Nkomo Posted September 15, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2007 I picked these strange overalls up today at our local surplus store. The guy had just started to pull out the heavier clothing items because of approaching colder weather. These were in a pile of coveralls /overalls. They caught my eye because of the color and the design. They were only five dollars, so I have hardly anything in these. Notice in picture two, there is a pocket that allows access to the inside of the pants.

Johan Willaert Posted September 15, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 15, 2007 They look like an original WW2 pair of Trousers, Combat Winter, and were also known as Tanker's Bib Trousers
Nkomo Posted September 15, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted September 15, 2007 Thanks! Did I go wrong for $5?
Eric Posted September 15, 2007 Share #6 Posted September 15, 2007 Thanks! Did I go wrong for $5? Very nice price, I paid 40 USD for mine pair 2 weeks ago. I wish I have found one for 5 USD Eric
The Meatcan Posted September 15, 2007 Share #7 Posted September 15, 2007 does the drawstring arrangement at the pant leg bottom make it an early pattern? I've got a pair of these bibs dated 1943 and there are snap closures instead.
Jeeper704 Posted September 16, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 16, 2007 Snaps are second pattern bibs. They also have a third zipper on the front (for easy access). Nkomo, I offer 10 USD (doubling your price) Very good deal you had there. Erwin
