  1. Yeah, went for 750. Too much for something I can't inspect myself.
  2. No, the only thing on the post was that it was a Chaplain's kit.
  3. These are the best pics I could find. Any thoughts on the lid? Kit? Gary
  4. I just recently aquired this lid. It is a 5th Corps Officers lid. It has a Westinghouse liner. Here are a few observations/questions... -The liner is a bit salty, I'll add a pic of that later. -Looking at the helmet production number, it is located off to the side. I was under the impression that these numbers were very close to the front seam? -The liner has a horizontal white stripe on the front along with the standard officer stripe. What was the purpose behind the horizontal white stripe? Was he promoted over the course of the war? I'll check to see if there is a NCO stripe late
  5. Thanks guys. I thought it looked bogus and the price was too good to be true.
  6. Hey guys, I wanted to get your opinion on this Chaplain lid. A. Is the cross too big? It kind of looks like it was added postwar B. Is the helmet a repaint?
  7. Could not have said it better!
  8. Thanks Rick! I got the 506th and 501st from Jamie over at http://www.wwiidropzone.com/ The roadrunner I got from Steve at http://www.m1helmetdepot.com/ From what I gather, the roadrunner is from the 45th. Thanks! We too are looking to move soon and a man cave/ war room will definitely be in the plans. Ha, I have actually been trying to find a way to display them properly, but the small space makes it a bit difficult.
  9. The past few years have been busy in more ways than one. I started collecting about four four years ago and in between then I've gotten married, have been holding a full time job, am a full time student and gone on many vacations. So my collection has been growing but has been in boxes, on random shelves and just not good looking. So now, I am looking to maintain my collection so that I can enjoy it for what it is. This is day one: what I have to work with, collection wise and space wise...
  10. Nice! Where can we get deactivated ones like this in the States?
  11. About to pull the trigger on this set. Any thoughts? http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6843914#post6843914
