  1. I just became fascinated with medals, and thought I'd look around a bit, next thing I know, I'm hooked and it only gotten worse. I'm broke!
  2. I am on the verge of purchasing a paper and photo group, and I really want to be able to appreciate the meaning of the history. I know I have a great deal of respect for the material in the group, but I want to feel the connection with it as I do a medal group. This is very difficult to explain, but I'm doing my best.
  3. If you aren't into research yet, this will get you into it. I started with my father and I just can't stop. Good luck with you search and learning about your G.Grandfather.
  4. That is a cool group, Dick. It is very complete and unusual, good find.
  5. More history is leaving us.....R.I.P. soldier.
  6. That's a heck of a patch Wharf, some of these aviators had a wild sense of humor! Guess it goes with the job.
  7. Yes SoulMan, your Medal is a nice one, and worth keeping. You may be able to trade up, but hang on to what you have for now.
  8. It's never too late, especially for the family that is left.
  9. Are they in this thread, perhaps I missed them.
  10. It was an ingenious idea, but could never have any real military value. It's a shame that six civilians had to loose their lives.
  11. Kurt, Do you have anything from Lieutenant William D. Hawkins, recipient of the MoH on Tarawa?
  12. This situation happened too me with a different item, when I think about it, I always wish I had not told the man it was fake.
  13. I don't think we can fully imagine what all is in there.....just no way.
  14. The government would like you to believe this is true. Many of the photos your have looked at are from my personal collection.()
