  1. I'm trying to find out if anyone can put me on a trace to the PH of Lorenzo Noto. Noto was with the merchant marine and he earned his Purple Heart on december 16,1944 in Antwerp. He was in the Rex movie theatre when it was hit by a V2 rocket. He was selected among a group of ten men to be the first Merchant Seaman to be awarded the Purple Heart. He ended a dignified career as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Maritime Service in 1946. His family no longer holds his PH medal, they think it was given away many years ago... Now I'm trying to find the "needle in the haystack".
  2. thanks for the interesting information !!! Koen
  3. I'm looking for help in order to reconstruct the ribbon bar of this WWII and Vietnam veteran as het would have been wearing it around 1962-1963. I have one of his uniforms of the early 60-ies when he was stationed in Germany but the bar is missing and I would love to have it made again for display. So I presume I will have to have the bar made at least without the vietnam medals. Does anyone have a suggestion where I can have a ribbon rack custom made? many thanks!
  4. Hello, I'm looking for any information on the whereabouts of the uniforms and memorabilia of Brigadier-general Clare Hibbs Armstong, commander of the Anti Flying bomb command Antwerp X in 1944-45. I'm posting a picture of one of his uniforms that was in a well known US collection. I'm working on a book on the subject and this would be of great help to me! thanks Koen
