  1. Found out with sad news that William Hewetson Lorimer Jr. (1932 - 2011) died on the 12th November 2011. R.I.P William Hewetson Lorimer Jr., of W. Melbourne, Fla., died Saturday, November 12, 2011 after 16 months of failing health. William was born June 8, 1932 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and came to Burlington in 1938 where he grew up and graduated from Burlington High School. 2. Picked this hat up off Ebay. It's not what I normally go for but I liked the look of it. This description is all I have to go on? For sale - Vietnam era Air Cav hat. It comes complete with both a gold dress band and a yellow cav band (not shown). Hat is in good condition and has no sign of mothing. Originally purchased from the USA. May be someone can tell me a little more I've taken a few pictures for you to look at. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0253.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0254.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0264.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0266.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0270.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0257.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0258.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0271.jpg
  3. cheers for that i'll have a look Thanks
  4. It's still a bit of a work in progress but its taken about a year to get to this stage. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0209.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0211.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0210.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...3/Photo0212.jpg Any comments criticisms welcomed. The entrenching tool is complete and I have a M1956 marching compass in the compass/first aid pouch. Most of the display I have sourced from the U.A.S. It's cost me loads in P&P and import tax. I'm looking for a nice butt pack and a Alice system back pack next?
  5. Thanks guys for all of the above information this has relay helped me. if you find anything more about Major Lorimer just keep it coming this stuff really fascinates me. I've been collecting now for about 12 months this looks to be one of my best pieces yet.Thank you.
  6. Cheers for that I would still like a little more help. I've tryed myself but not having too much luck.
  7. Would it be possible to have some help with this jacket? I believe the rank of the Pearson who owned it was ether a Lt Colonel or a major the label on the inside reads DSA-100-68-2416 and the owners name was LORIMER of the U.S AIRFORCE. The labels look like they are in country made. The jacket seems like it’s hardly been used. Would it be possible to trace the name of the owner and how would I do this? I've uploaded a few pictures to look at. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...63/IMG_3604.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...63/IMG_3593.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...63/IMG_3595.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...63/IMG_3594.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...63/IMG_3602.jpg http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz15/bi...63/IMG_3599.jpg sorry for the quality of some of the photo's I have come to realise my camera on close ups is rubbish.
  8. I've been looking for a large size jungle jacket for some time now and i picked this one up at the weekend. I'm having trouble dating it's year of manufacture I'm usually able to date items by there DSA number but this jacket has not got one.
