M1917 Helmet with Red Stripe
gunbarrel replied to gunbarrel's topic in MARKED & PAINTED HELMETS [REF]
The inside...no liner. -
Hi Everyone, Picked up this WWI helmet at a garage sale this weekend. The seller said that it had been found in an old barn and it was his Dad's (who had passed away). He said that his father was a Navy Corpsman in the late 50's - early 60's and he told him that it was a WWI Medic helmet recognizable by the red stripe, but he did not know for sure. Does anyone know what the red stripe mark signifies? Thank you!

E.W. Stone Theatre Copy Knife / Possible Maker Named

Click on the link and you can see the knife in its original configuration. I bought it from Navy Dan, kept it for about 10 years and Frank sold it for me earlier this year. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/62105-fighting-knife-made-from-sword/?hl=%2Bcamp+%2Bpendleton -

Frank is right. I bought that knife here in this forum several years ago and earlier this year Frank sold it for me in consignment. The knife has been modified since. When I owned it and when Frank sold it for me, it did not have a Eugene Stone grip copy. It had the original sword grip. -
Cliff, Please read the second paragraph on page 1 of my post. Thank you! GB

Good to hear! Thank you. -
Bob, I checked with another Cuban American friend of mine in Miami, Dr. Hector Meruelo, who is an expert in Spanish arms and machetes. He probably knows about machetes as much as Carter Rila did, and he confirmed that it is identical to the ones Cuban Guardia Rurales used. He has one exactly alike, made in Germany, but with a longer blade, marked J.Bungersohn, Barmen, No.22. Hope this helps.

Honestly, I haven't heard if or how much we (I'm a LRPC member) are going to charge for parking. Every bit of the $10 parking fee goes to the City, who owns the Center...*0* goes to the Club. That, and the increases for the 3-day rental fee is why we had to keep increasing the entrance fee. And why we've had enough and we are moving to a different venue. We hope faithful attendants like you will come to the new location; otherwise, we will have to fold. That's really what the anti-gun people in the City want. Another thing they kept doing was to keep scheduling dance recitals on the same -

Great display! Cut-down rifle, or real carbine? Just curious; not that would detract from the display.

Very nice.
