  1. I think that is a pretty viable lead. To go from PFC to a commissioned officer between 1935 and lets say 1942 is not much of a stretch. The army was thin between 1935 and 1939. There was definitely room to grow quick.
  2. I think I might have found him on NARA. I skipped him the first time because of no JR. . There is a John G. born on 09. http://aad.archives.gov/aad/record-detail....6096012,6371446 Does anyone know how to find out additional info?
  3. Thanks for the info, now I have a good start.
  4. Thanks for the offer! I ran him on NARA and came up with nothing. My guess is he was in the Army prior to WWII. I think the NARA records only are for enlistment between 1941-45.
  5. Here is an English made one named to a filght officer Young.
  6. Here are some pics of the set
  7. Thanks The Box was in the name of LT. J. G. Schmid Jr., Co. M, 316th Inf.
  8. Well guys I got the whites today. It turned out to be a better deal than expected. The auction said no trousers but it did come with the matching trousers. All items were in perfect mint conditioned. The visor also came with an extra white top. The insignia looks original to it. All matching with pre-war/early war clutches. Then the best part is it is a larger size. Well worth $100 IMO.
