  2. Just saw the auction. I think it looks pretty good, but I wanted to ask the experts. http://cgi.ebay.com/M1-Helmet-Liner-WWII-9...d#ht_500wt_1182
  3. Here are some of mine: Battle for Cape Gloucester, December 26th 1943 to April 1944. Unit: 1st Mardiv. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/y...pr/P1030497.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/y...pr/P1030502.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/y...pr/P1030510.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/y...pr/P1030589.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/y...09/DSCN0006.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/y...09/DSCN0007.jpg
  4. That Hawley Liner is amazing. Really great find. Charlie
  5. agree with Nick, just leave it. the corking looks nice and so does the color. the liner complete? Charlie
  6. really great pictures. I do not know much about the 509th, but what is that white cap on one of the guys? Charlie
  7. Well the first one is not a fake. The Seller even says it is a reproduction and not original, hence not fooling anybody into buying it cause it is original. Charlie
  8. Yesterday I received my reproduction Hawley liner from Rob Lihani, and all I can say is its outstanding. It is built around a WWII GI High Pressure liner. It is a work of art. unlike other repro's the fabric is not bunch up anywhere on the liner, the rim is sturdy, and is sure to last for my reenacting lifetime. Pictures: The Hawley liner for me is a key that opens a door to a much wider range of impressions, this liner will allow me to do guadalcanal, North Africa, and early Stateside just to name a few. Even in Normandy you still see some popping up. In closing, I
  9. OK, I just looked at the liner. and I think the A washers are parkerized, believe it or not. they are not painted I can say that much for sure. Charlie
  10. I have to say that information is amazing. Its all spot on. Angeline, or nina as we called her, was a family member, and she was always giving me these old military stuff. I need to ask how did you get all of that?
  11. WOW. I got the hats from from George's Wife Nina. and I have George K. Tweddels uniform from WWI, along with some bring backs. that was amazing how you got all that information.
  12. It would not shock me if it was re webbed. I knew the black A Washers were not right. I am Ok with it, not really going to ruin my day. I did not buy it on ebay but at a local military shop. Also what do you mean by Nickel Justin? Thanks guys. Charlie
