  1. Forgot full rear shot of mine. Found it last year.
  2. Here is my pouch like this made like TAMU97's mine was made from material with sew line markings offset so they are visible.
  3. If you are talking about the Nylon case with hard plastic insert thar kit comes in two different sizes. The original size was similar to the WW II jungle first aid kit. Later in the late 80s or early 90s it was enlarged by 2 or three inches. They look the same but ones case and inset is larger than the other.
  4. The pack is an M 1944 converted to M 1945 standards . The old quick release tabs under shovel tie down on lower front and center lower rear are the telltale signs of this. Shpuld be a tab on either side of pack as well. Check under upper flap equipment flap for a date.
  5. Found a link showing shovel attached to suspenders. I believe i is the same type as posted above. There is another post on the covers with disk I will still try and find. In this thread posted by Andrew of Candians testing Experimental U.S. gear. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/270367-early-ex54-gear/page-3
  6. I remember seeing one posted in this forum but can't find thread. I think it is a test example and the brass disk between attachment clips slides into a slit/pocket on the suspenders. Still searching for thread will post link if I find it.

  8. Your new field jacket is an issued piece. Looks like they printed label wrong or sewed wrong label in that jacket , incorrect printed 00-782 marked through and correct 01-099 ink marked in. That is how I read the label and marking. Also yes Woodland field jackets were commercially made as well.
  9. In response to your question on socks, here is a pic of my standard socks. I do not have a pic of the sock liner/ dress sock at the moment but it is a thinner more smooth sock.
  10. Yes Pawtwo that is the long johns that I was issued except my drawers were white instead of brown. I was not issued poly pro until Germany. I preferred the ones I was issued in basic over the polypros , plus we were only supposed to wear natural fibers under our nomex on tanks. a pic of my top and my bottoms looked like these not sure if these are the exact model but they were white like these.
  11. I will try and get pics of the sock and sock liner sized to fit here later today. Allen
  12. We had a dark blackish blue color for the sock and sock liner. The sock liner was basicly a dress sock. I don't think you could wear dress gloves with BDU's. The balck work glove shells with or without liners.
