    Remember.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.
  2. Hi, Are these ribbons in the correct order? I will probably swap the Defence ribbon for the EAME ribbon.
  3. Thanks again you have been very helpful, I will look into it.
  4. Thank you for the information, it is a great help.
  5. Yes, it does help, I am finding the U.S. medals confusing to say the least. As I said in my OP I am looking to do USAAF 8th AF officer.
  6. Thank you for your replies. I do not want to go over the top, if I went for: Air Medal. Soldiers Medal. American Defence Medal. Good Conduct Medal. Would that be okay and not cause offence to anyone, including serving military?
  7. Thank you, I will not wear bravery (Valour) medals. What would be suitable for a 8th Air Force USAAF Officer?
  8. I spent 30 years as a Police Officer and during that time, I was issued with three medals. Queens Golden Jubilee. Queens Diamond Jubilee. Long Service & Good Conduct Medal. When RAF re-enacting I wear a King George VI Coronation Medal and a King George V medal. As these are service medals and not bravery medals that I would not entitled to wear. When re-enacting USAAF Officer are there equivalent medals that it would be okay to wear, if so what are they?
  9. Very nice, I never realised that the torpedo casings were copper. I always assumed they would be grey or green, to stop reflections.
  10. To me it looks like a standard British MK11 'Tommy' helmet with U.S. strap and liner added to it.
  11. A very nice cap. I thought it was only officers caps that had the mohair band?
  12. What an amazing item to have with a family history to go with it. And in very good condition.
