  4. 30th Infantry 1st Pennsylvania Reserves G Company. Captain Dobson is 3rd from the left holding the sword.
  5. This photo was taken after he was promoted to Major General
  6. I came across this auction awhile ago, they are selling two infantry captain shoulder straps, a 3rd Corps badge and a leather sewing kit that belonged to my one of my great uncles Captain John R. Dobson of the 30th Infantry 1st PA Reserves. He was married to my 5th great grandmothers sister. I would love to have this but with the price of $2091.25 there's just no way. Also the information on the display plaque is wrong it states that he was wounded in both legs at Gettysburg, survived his wounds and went on to fight the rest of the war. Records I have obtained from the Phoenixville Histori
  7. Amazing 80th Division grouping! Im impressed
  8. Nice pics I remember visiting this ship when I was in boy scouts back in 1999. From here we went down to spend 3 nights aboard the USS Yorktown in SC. What a fun trip it was!
  9. Pretty cool pics I remember when I was 12 back in 1999 my boy scout troop took a trip there and we got to spend 3 nights aboard the ship in the bunk rooms. I gotta tell ya 3 nights aboard this ship in the South Carolina heat was like sleeping in an oven. One of my buddies at the time was I think the 50,000 (dont remember the exact number) person to walk through the entrance of the USS Yorktown. They gave him a peice of the wooden flight deck from the original USS Yorktown that was sunk on June 7, 1942 in the battle of Midway with a commemorative plaque on it. I gotta admit I was pretty jealous
  10. I too just finished this book and I have to say it is the best book I have ever read. I hope that each freedom loving American will one day read Lone Survivor. This story tells you just what type of people the US armed forces are made of. I promise you that once you start reading you will not be able to put this one down.
  11. Judging by the trailer this one definitely looks like another love story. But anyway it isn't often a WWI movie comes out so I cant wait to see it. Here's the trailer link: Also does anyone know if the Red Baron movie will be coming to the US? I think it has already been released in Germany. The Red Baron Trailer
