  2. ok, thanks for the info, guess I will relax my guard on the HBT base!
  3. On the note of backing, I have seen some patches with HBT material as the base fabric. Is that WWII? I was kind of leary of them myself.
  4. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Huge-Lot-565-WWII-Era-DI-Crest-Clutchback-Backs-MANY-RARE-/161117728090?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25835d6d5a I only see a couple of wwii ones but still a bunch o clasps for 20 bucks.
  5. Wow, I really need to get back to going to more shows and dig around. Fabulous looking patches!
  6. I agree with the above, I had a Pakistan outfit make me a few bullioned patches and they look to be of the same quality.
  7. I found that William Kellers book was a great source for me. I started out trying to get all the divisions, then the greenback bug hit and followed buy the variations and OD border as well. The book shows a lot of different variations. I have all 3 books, soon to be for sell, so if you want the different variations, this is a good route. InsigniaHunter, ever seen the left facing stem on the 43rd?
  8. What hallmark is this?
  9. yep, thats what I was looking for, thanks!
  10. What is the difference between the rounded pill shape warrant officer as opposed to the rectangled ones?
  11. no joke! Hard to fork out that much cash for some after all the other flight stuff needed!
  12. anyone out there know a source for reproduction A-6 leather boots?
