  1. Ok you ARE not a nerd, you are AMAZING and helpful and wonderful and a river of knowledge! Thank you so much!!!!
  2. Hello!! Ok I am pretty sure the ribbons are stil not quite right as i keep getting different things from google In fact if any one could advise me on a resource or book where I can refer to when looking for ribbons I would be very greatful So here we have him again with his badge not gild!! Is that better?
  3. Having read all your comments, I will make the mentioned adjustments and repost here. Thank you again so much for taking the time to advise me
  4. Hi Alan, Are you saying his eagle should be bronze as well?? this is what I was given as reference As for the ribbons, I really don't know how and where to get that information
  5. Today I share with you my Portrait Colorization of Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson. An Army cavalry officer who served in the Philippines, during the Punitive Expedition and then in World War 1 with the famous 1st "Big Red One" Division. He was the Cavalry Detachment Commander of the US Army Occupation force in Germany after the war. His wife was a Swedish Countess, but he is most famous for something he invented after he left the Army. He is the man who came up with the idea of the modern-day comic book; the first comic books to tell an entire story rather than just reprints comics that had been in newspapers. He formed the company that today is known as DC Comics, the home of Superman and Batman. In 2008 he was inducted into the Comic Book hall of Fame. I hope you like it
  6. Dear fellow members I have been tasked with colourizing this photo who I was surprise to discover is the man who invented the DC comics!! How intersting! I am told he was a major, but in the photo I am not sure he was already a major... can you tell me the colours of his uniform and cap? Thank you so much!
  7. Thank you all for your feedback Here is a revised version: Is this closer to the reality? I also have another challenge which I will post on an independent thread Have a lovely week!! Claudia
  8. Thank you! This is EXACTLY the type of advice and feedback I was looking for by joining this forum, so thank you so much. The thing is I don't know what is a fouregere or an agulette. Do you happen to have a photo?
  9. Yes :-) unfortunately the resolution of the photo is quite low so the detail is not as crisp as some of my other works. However after reading this incredible man's story I had to add him to my colourisation collection
  10. This is fantastic!! I shall post the finished item later. Thank you all for your kind help
  11. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d9/Cukela_Capt_Louis_USMC_h79333.jpg I would like to colourize this photo, but can't find a definitive reference anywhere. I am also thinking that maybe he was still a captain when the photo was taken... Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will share the colourized version here when I finish Thank you ?!
