This was on the discharge of a Staff Sgt that was a member of the 29th Bn of the 7th Reg of the Field Art Repl Center at Fort Sill, with 2 yrs & 7 months of overseas service. It says the overseas destination he went to was “Mercury”, he arrived back in the US on April 10, 1944 & was discharged in September of 45. I think this might have something to do with the Atomic Bomb Project? He only has the American Theatre Medal, ADSM & CGM

Would a Pvt in Artillery wear the standard Mills Cartridge belt in the field? Or just a pistol belt w/ added pouches

This uniform belonged to a Battalion Surgeon in the 7th Div. in Korea. I noticed that it had silver buttons, I've never seen that, would the lapel insignia be silver as well as the cap badge, chinstrap and side buttons? Is it correct that a tan shirt with a black tie and belt would be worn with it? Would anyone have charts of the insignia that would be worn on the uniform shirt?

This belonged to a Cpl in the HQ Co, of the 291st Inf Reg, in the 75th Inf Divi. His specialty is listed as a Refueling Unit Operator, with the 3rd Air Divison, assigned to the 8th Air Force. He was awarded 5 campaign stars, including "Air Offensive Europe". He was given a general discharge from an army hospital and was not eligible for reenlistment, despite not being wounded in combat. I was thinking he could've been hospitalized for something relating to him being an alcoholic, since he died young because of that, could I be correct? Does anyone have pics of an Army Refueling Unit?
