  1. Hello! this is not my area of expertise but i recently purchased this. Looks like it was dug. Would love to hear some of your opinions. Was supposedly found around Antietam.
  2. this has been on ebay for a little while. I am realitivly inexperienced when it comes to uniform stuff, most of my experience is in artillery shells and equipment. I dont think ive seen shoulder boards of this type, and I have a couple authentic shoulder boards in my collection. Would love to hear about your opinions.
  3. My thought would be that usually they try to spice citations up a bit. They're not going to say "The Division Commander cites the following officers and soldiers for getting wounded". Doesn't have the same ring to it as "... for gallantry in action and especially meritorious services" I have owned a few 1st ID Silver Star medal groups over the years... the vast majority have been these GO1, where a citation star is issued and a wound recorded, but no specific citation was ever found. I actually had a grouping to a guy who got the Silver Star w/ OLC but didn't know it because he received one citation star for gallantry during the war and another one in 1920 cause he was gassed.
  4. Apologies - its just S.122. I typed too quickly. S.R. wouldnt make any sense as H.R. stands for House of Representatives, and S stands for Senate.
  5. Good morning! A new bill, H.R. 2911 was introduced into the house just a couple days ago. The bill is so new that the text is not yet available on the government website. However, the premise of the bill is... To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide for penalties for the sale of any Purple Heart awarded to a member of the Armed Forces. This is the exact same wording found on S.R. 122. Looks like theyre trying to start the Purple Heart Preservation Act again. Right now, both bills are in the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.
