  1. What type of knife would a Marine M60 machine gunner usually have carried in the Vietnam War?
  2. I have seen multiple M1955 flak vests with the date May 7, 1968. What does this exactly mean? Were they both made this same day?
  3. I know it is original, but I am looking for a pre-1968 M65 jacket, so I was wondering if this jacket fits that period.
  4. Hello, I am wondering if someone could please help me date this M65 field jacket. The DSA number is: DSA 100-1690. Also, is the U.S. Army patch original and authentic? https://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-60s-Vietnam-1st-Pattern-US-Army-Military-M65-Field-Jacket-Og107-Medium-M/333621352905#viTabs_0
  5. Hello, I saw this helmet liner for sale with the ARVN Ranger insignia on it. The liner itself looks real, but the paint seems unoriginal. Just thought Id check. Thank you https://www.ebay.com/itm/Veitnam-War-ARVN-Helmet-Liner/293229981551
  6. That’s what I thought. Thanks.
  7. Hello, I saw these 2 ARVN ranger helmets for sale and am wondering if anyone can confirm if the paint is original to either one of them. Thank you https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vietnamese-Rangers-Bi-t-ng-Quan-ARVN-Helmet-Army-Tiger-logo-Vietnam-war/312746771672 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vietnamese-Rangers-Bi-t-ng-Quan-ARVN-Helmet-Army-Tiger-logo-Vietnam-war/392402378365
  8. I am looking for a Vietnam M1 helmet, but cant seem to find a decent complete liner and helmet set. I am wondering if it would be unauthentic if I found a pot and liner separately? Was it normal at the time for helmets to be reissued without the first liner or pot? I just want to be as historically accurate as possible. Thank you.
  9. My grandfather was stationed in Stuttgart and Heidelberg, Germany around 1967 and 1968. He served in the psychological warfare division as a mail clerk in the army. He left all of his military items and souvenirs from Germany in a trunk and one of the soldiers from his unit was supposed to bring the trunk back, but unfortunately he never did. I just thought it might be worth asking if anyone had anything. Thank you.
  10. Is there any way to tell how early something was issued during the year stated on a piece of equipment? For example, a 1911 magazine pouch dated 1943. Were all of these mass issued at the beginning of the year or were they just made steadily throughout 1943? And say for a Vietnam liner dated 1968, was it immediately issued or could it have been made in December 1968? I know this is not true, but could some have been manufactured in 1967 with a 1968 date and issued early? These are just examples, thanks.
  11. This helmet is for sale and the liner looks good, but the shell appears off to me. I dont know too much about helmets, but the bales and straps seem wrong. Can someone please confirm the dates of both the helmet and liner. Thank you. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Early-Vietnam-War-M1-Helmet-1965-Ingersoll-Shell-1965-Westinghouse/113819215920?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dd76fb19962fd40568c03f74635e7eea4%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D191874038323%26itm%3D113819215920%26pg%3D2481888&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Abbd61e1b-a773-11e9-9a6d-74dbd180ba4b%7Cparentrq%3Af8ab6cbc16b0a9c9aaad6d53ff6d988a%7Ciid%3A1
