  2. If anyone here can help me get in touch with whoever now owns this Purple Heart, photo, and document sold at auction in December of 2010 I am trying to reunite it with other memorabilia from this veteran, Lt Col lloyd Hilton Dessaint, USAF. It was sold on Proxibid in the 2010 December Military & Firearms Holiday Auction by Affiliated Auctions & Realty of Tallahassee, Florida. Thank you.
  3. Wow I can't believe I just found this thread. I am the new owner of this ike jacket and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Prior to the auction ending I did my research and found everything that has been posted here, article and documents included. I already have a uniform to a decorated tanker of the 44th Tank Battalion in the Philippines and was very happy to find one to the 775th. If anyone would like to see any specific photos when it arrives let me know.
  4. That's me! I just received the jacket in the mail a couple of hours ago. Send me a private message and I can give you my cell number.

My grandfather was in 1st Platoon of the 71st Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop Mechanized and at the time the camp was liberated, he was on scouting duty. This was
  6. Thank you Timberwolf! What a great piece of history!
  7. Thank you for the link Dave. I actually have seen that listing before. I only collect ID'd items where the veteran's history can be traced.
  8. Beautiful Ikes, CW4AFB thanks for posting! Yeah my grandfather, T/4 Samuel T. Griffin was with the 71st the whole way through. They're definitely an under-appreciated unit of WW2.
  9. What uniforms do you have from the Red Circle? Post them here!
  10. I'd love to see what groupings people have of the 71st. Let's see 'em!
  11. Anyone have any ID'd medals to 71st vets? Share what you have! My grandfather never received the medals he should have gotten, otherwise I'd post some pictures.
