  1. Interesting. I've never seen velcro applied to the interior of an ACH like that before.
  2. Nice lid! Hard to beat having a picture of your gear in-country.
  3. Fantastic helmets! I really like the 506th.
  4. I like it. Like you said, it's entirely possible that he was issued multiple helmets throughout his career, hence the fact that he's wearing a different one in the photo. Keep digging though! There have been several occasions when I've managed to find a photo of one of my helmets being worn on deployment with enough time spent searching.
  5. Great helmet. Complete, early USMC sets like that are hard to find.
  6. Good info. I've found examples of 327th marked helmets in collections, but nothing in period photographs so far. I'm still on the lookout though.

The cover looks like it is original to the helmet and I can see where it looks like, in addition to drawing the 327th club on the sides, somebody traced a partial outline of the camo pattern. The only thing that stands out to me is the fact that I haven't ever seen or been able to find photos of the 327th in Vietnam with similar markings on their helmets. Additionally, the reflective pieces attached to the rear of the helmet strike me as a post-VN thing. Any thoughts and opinions on the helmet are welcome.
  8. The patches are for the 563rd Aviation Support Battalion. They were a part of the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade.
  9. Here are my 4th ID helmets. The first is an ACH with a UCP camo cover, same time period as Pump 150's helmet. The second is also an ACH with a later OCP camo cover.
