  1. Recently acquired this rather large enameled sterling Krew insignia. Was noted as being on an Air Force Blues dress coat. Measures about 1 7/8 inches in diameter. Have not had any luck identifying it and hoping someone can tell me what it is. Thanks in advance.
  2. Thank all of you for the input. I would never have figured it out on my own. I was not aware at all of the 40 8 railcars connection to WW1 veterans so I have learned something. Again, many thanks to all of you.
  3. I've been trying to ascertain the correct nomenclature for this embroidered felt patch and am coming up empty. It's about 3 3/4 inches wide and tall. The three sets of numbers are giving me a fit: 537/40/8. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
  4. Ran across this Air Force Special Training Squadron Patch. Embroidered on blue twill w/cheesecloth back. Measures about 3 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. TIOH website down for awhile now and researched usafpatches.com and ericusafpatches.nl as well as much googleing, all with zero results. Can anyone help me nail down the correct nomenclature for it including unit and base of operations if possible. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.
  5. Thanks to everyone for their input. The threads going different directions is what threw me for a loop. I've seen good pics of original theater made as well as collector copies and repro's and none of them showed similar thread directions as the example that I have shown. So tredhed2's comment now makes the most sense. I don't have a black light so that test is out for me. Thanks again.
  6. I am trying to determine the authenticity of this Jingpaw Rangers patch. It measures about 2 1/2 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches tall. I read in a previous forum post that the copies had a horizontal straight line for the top of the "G''s and this one has the bend down top. It is a cut edge snow back. Hopefully my pics show adequate detail of the front and back for a professional opinion of it. Any guidance is appreciated.
  7. vintageproductions, Thanks for the tip of usapatches.com. Did a search at their website and it resulted in this patch being 6924th Electronic Security Squadron. I will bookmark their site for future reference. Thanks again.
  8. Have not had any luck at TIOH or military motto websites identifying this contemporary patch. Google returns zilch on the motto so hoping someone can help me figure out the identification. It measures about 3 1/4 inches tall and 3 3/8 inches wide.
  9. I recently acquired this felt on wool patch and am having difficulty identifying it so any help is appreciated. It measures a hair over 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Pre WW2 Port of Embarkation related...?
  10. Thank you ever so much. I would never have figured it out without the help of you gentlemen. The link patches shared nailed it.
  11. Can anyone tell me the ID on this patch? Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide. It measures about 3 1/4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches tall.
  12. Initially I thought it may be associated with some sort of "chemical" unit due to the green drip beaker looking things so I thought Johnny had hit on something. I'm always amazed at how helpful the forum members are and very grateful to finally nail down the ID on this one. Thanks again fellows!
  13. Thanks, figured I would scan it upside down, had a 50/50 shot at getting it right.
