  1. BSR, what does the inside look like? Are there noticeable signs of use? It's hot over there. If it was used you'll be able to look at the pads and see dirt and sweat stains. The chinstrap will be stained. I've got my ACH that I wore through my whole Army career and wore on my deployment. It's not painted camo but has the multi cam cover and you can look at it and tell it's been heavily used. NVG mount has scratches from a scope. Nicks and dings all over the helmet. If it looks fresh, it probably is. The special ops guys that were with us on our FOB were always going out and seeing action. My
  2. Do some searching on Ebay and you'll see the going prices for what you're looking for. You just have to know what you're looking at because not everyone knows what they're selling. You might get one dirt cheap or you might pay the normal price. Just don't overpay. Some people want a lot of money for something that isn't worth half of what they're asking. I've gotten great helmets for bargain prices. There are almost always helmets for sale on this forum that would match what you're looking for. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  4. Dean, out of curiosity, where did you get the battle of Okinawa picture? I need to add some pictures to my war room. It's a small room and looks like a small museum but I need some more things on the walls. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  5. The good bail is definitely a reproduction. Where the paint is missing on the rim, it looks like it was scratched off. With sand paper or something. I think that the liner is original and they tried to make the helmet condition match the liner. How is there no corrosion on the chinstrap buckles? I say this one is fake. It's like they tried too hard to make it seem legit. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  6. So this could be a Hoover liner? Would make sense to me being that it is unusual. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  7. I've owned an MSA with rayon suspension but it wasn't unusual like this one. Never seen one with the fixed chinstrap either. Pretty cool! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  8. Judging by the flatter profile I'd say Schlueter. The front brim looks flatter and less steep than a McCord as well. It's a nice one too. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  9. I have a PASGT helmet in storage that I don't really want. Not sure about the size or date. I could dig it out and look if you think you'd be interested in it. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  10. I love the 5 hole chincup. Hoping I can find one someday. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  11. Interesting! Thanks for the link! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  12. I found a helmet that I'm interested in and it has decals on it. They look to be paper type. And they're for a unit that saw a lot of action in Italy so I was curious. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  13. When did helmet decals start seeing use? Are they considered post war or what? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  14. It's a front seam WW2 helmet alright. But original M2 it is not. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  15. Maybe the seller bought it and realized it was fake and is now trying to flip it. I know very little about beach battalion helmets but as others have said, the paint looks flaky and generally incorrect. Just my 2 cents Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
