  1. This A2 was recently sold through IMA. I have Gurwit's paperwork and original Goldfish badge. I'd like to put the group back together. Any information would be appreciated.
  2. I didn't realize he was awarded a soviet medal..very interesting. None of the ribbons in the group were Russian but considerding the odd selection of memorabilia that was included, it doesn't surprise me.
  3. I recently obtained this interesting group to Rear Admiral John Corbus who, while serving as Captain on the U.S.S.Bowfin, had the distinction of "sinking" a concrete dock and a bus loaded with reinforcements. It is my understanding that more of this group exists, and I'd like to see it back together.
  4. A few Pics. For the record, I believe the engraving is correct. The DSC and PH would've been awarded at the same time. The AM is classic and the DFC, though not entirely textbook, appears legit.
  5. I have this group. It is very extensive with two large binders of original paperwork. The medals were never court mounted. When the photos were put on eBay, the seller thought the layout (which looked as if they were court mounted) seemed more impressive. As for the engraving...not sure. No question that all of the paperwork is original. He did serve in the 8th for two months so the uniforms match up. The seller admitted to adding the Canadian medals, the ETO and Victory. Although it is questionable with regard to the engraving, the bulk of this group is legit.
  6. I have his medals, documents and photos. Would be nice to put this back together.
  7. It's actually an Army Air Corps Civilian Flight Instructor's Cap Badge
  8. Im looking for a DFC if anyone has one available
  9. Agreed. These appear to be correct. This is an excellent and correct group.
