  1. I am putting together a circa 1957 display for a well kitted US Army infantryman. I bought a chinstrap from a very old timer that says it is correct for the 1950's. The hardware on it actually looks like a dull (parkerized ?) green. Is this the right color ? It does not look painted. Should a dull green chinstrap be a sewn on or clamped to the bales ? Is the T1 break away buckle correct for the 1950's ?
  2. I got a copy of Dorsey' Book but I cant determine if the model 1887 cartridge belt was still made in tan or just blue. Why the switch to blue ? Does anyone know what year the grommets for the pre 1887 bayonet scabbords finally got dropped from the belt ?
  3. On Page 6 of Osprey's Combat Equipments (MAA 205) they list an M1907 Canteen and an M1908 Haversack. Can anyone tell me the difference between that equipment and the earlier M1879 Canteen and M1904 Haversack ?
  4. New Romantic, Frankie ? on Page 6 of Osprey's Combat Equipments (MAA 205) they list an M1907 Canteen and an M1908 Haversack. I can't tell the difference between that equipment and your earlier M1879 Canteen and M1904 Haversack. Could you enlighten me ?
  5. Dorsey's book claims there are 3 patterns of M1903 cartridge belt. You have only 2. Can you tell me where the difference is ?
  6. Does anyone have a sisde by side photo of the difference between the 1907 and the M1909 suspenders ?
