  1. Thank you Sir. That gives me an avenue to pursue.
  2. All of these patches were part of a small WW1 patch collection. I haven't be able to identify any of them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott
  3. We have cancelled the postponed date also. There will be no show on May 31, 2020. We will be back in the Fall.
  4. The show has been cancelled and rescheduled for May 31, 2020.
  5. Celebrating our tenth show! From a small hall with 70 tables to a flight museum hangar with 280 tables. Come check it out, you won't be disappointed. I've still got a few tables left.
  6. Hi Dave, I am one of the curators at the MAPS museum in North Canton, Ohio. https://mapsairmuseum.org/. We currently have the MOH and companion medals of USMC PFC. Ralph Dias on display. You may also be interested in the Purple Heart and companion medals of 1st Lt. Sharon Lane. She was the only servicewoman killed in Vietnam as the direct result of enemy action. I would be happy to work with you if you are interested. Scott Denniss denniss.scott@mapsairmuseum.org
  7. Thanks for all of the info. Dave Stauder is actually the guy who gave me the knife and told me the story. Both he and I have been trying to identify the maker. Unfortunately there's no one left in his family that has any info on it. But the two names you provided are worth investigating.
  8. I've been trying to identify the maker of this knife. It was made by a farmer in Nokomis Illinois. The story goes that he made a knife for every man from Nokomis who went off to World War Two. How many were made is not known. The knife is very well made, there are no markings on it. I don't think the sheath shown is the original. Any help appreciated.
  9. The North Coast Military Collectors and The Military Aviation Preservation Society (MAPS) present their 8th bi-annual Militaria Show. One day only on Sunday March 31, 2019, 9:00 am to 4:00pm. Five dollar admission gets you in the door to the show and the museum. That's a show and exhibits for half of the normal museum admission. Hope to see you there!
  10. This patch was represented to me as a U.S. Navy Squadron patch. I haven't had any luck identifying it. It's 4 inches in diameter. The construction style suggests the vietnam era to me. Any insight would be appreciated.
  11. This patch came with several WW1 Division Patches. It's very nicely chain stitched. Each side is just under four inches. I'm thinking it's a YMCA patch but I can't find anything comparable. Any help appreciated.
  12. Three CIDG patches, #1 at the top is believed to be a reproduction. The middle #2 has similar construction and materials and is also most likely a reproduction too. The bottom #3 has finer thread and sharper details. Could it possibly be real? Any opinions appreciated.
  13. I picked up this pocket hanger today. It came out of an older VN collection. I've found three different identifications for it. South Vietnam Marine Recon, Laotian Special Guerrilla Unit and Camp Buon Blech CIDG Mobile Guerrilla Force. I'm inclined to go with the last based on the camp photo. I just wish I could read the tab over it in the photo. Curious if anyone else has a solid ID on it?
  14. Here's a nice example of a Type IV disk. This particular one was made by N.S. Meyer.
  15. This was in with a bunch of uniform accessories. I'm going to reveal my ignorance and ask, what the heck is it ?????? Thanks, Scott
  16. Lots of new faces this time around. Several local guys thinning the herd and downsizing. Also a very large patch collection is hitting the tables. Should be an interesting show. One day only, Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Set-up is tomorrow from 10 am until 4:00 pm and Sunday beginning at 6:30 am. This is looking like the one show that you don't want to miss. *****10-19-2018 @ 9:40am. If anyone is interested I just had a couple tables open up due to a medical situation. I've satisfied the stand-by list so they will are available. But probably not for long. ***** My contact info
  17. I've had this patch for quite a while. I actually thought I lost it and just found it today. I've never been able to identify it. I think it might be a transportation unit or possibly a maintenance unit.
  18. Is this a common variation with the all black headdress? I've never run across one like this.
  19. Show number seven, wow time flies. It will be here before you know it. Tables are filling up fast with several new faces in the mix. Don't wait or you might just be a visitor and not a vendor. Contact info is on the flyer.
  20. Please post a flyer here when they come out. Scott
  21. I'm trying to ID this patch. The closest I've come is a similar gold bullion on blue felt patch identified to the 56th Engineer Regiment (Searchlight). Can anyone offer anymore info on it? Tnx, Scott
