Given the fact that you could have gotten this set for $331.98, the M8 you speak of is ridiculously priced. That is also considering it's OD7 and not OD3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-WWII-2-Imperial-U-S-M3-Fighting-Knife-M8-BMCO-scabbard-Army-Military-/184453684813?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=az2jOhowYj7%2BTZZ2R%2B2RAZ2Wvag%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc eBay has been so hit and miss. This Imperial that sold for $331.98 was a deal for blade stamped with OD3 M8, considering what some of the junk has s

    Fake A-2

So the item is listed on eBay. The seller is being told the jacket is not an original, via Ebay messages? Sounds like a buying tactic to lowball, then come in and say they will buy it for $1800 to be used as a display. I know nothing as to the originality of the items listed, but heck why not try to get a deal (roll eyes here.)
  4. My guess is that it has a similar date as this listing. I've had a few of these boxes and they were all from the 70's. HTH's
  5. Thanks for all the replies. Does look like Witco stuff, but I cannot find anything similar. Were Witco items individually made? Markings on the back are still a mystery? I've always believed CBF has some military reference.
  6. My suspicion is that the pin was deleted, only to be replaced due to the older Presto worm style scales that lifted or bubbled up by the safety lock area. Or twist rigidity? No other ideas?
  7. There are 2 holes in the top edge and 2 holes in the bottom edge about 3/4" dia x 2" deep. Like it was a part of others above and below it. I've googled images that look similar. Several of these are stacked up and attached to a pole or tree.
  8. As a child my father would arrive home daily, weekly, or monthly with yard sale items. One day he arrived with the below pictured item. The seller stated that his father had obtained this item while participating in the WWII Pacific Island hopping timeframe. Any idea what the markings painted on the back indicate? Ship/boat call sign? CBF 19-U6 ETA - Sorry can't figure these sideway photo uploads TIA Albert
  9. Agreed, on value. $350-500 for a super rare late WWI - early WWII design/fuse. But $680! Really? I've heard of this guy and he gets good stuff, but his buyers must be knife fighting to get his stuff. I stopped looking at his items because they are so far out of reach. This grenade - closed bottom - black dipped handle - M10A3 fuse. Highball retail $350
  10. I do not, but maybe someone here knows the seller. His items have a way of always bringing a premium? Always!
