Very beautiful example! Hopefully you will not have much difficulty researching this one, as that doesn't appear to be an all to common name. Can't wait to hear what your research yields. His IDPF should be interesting, but be patient waiting for the reply. Congrats!

Thanks for the comments, I was unaware of that gravesite web [thanks Scott]. It was a great deal for my friend but I paid the "going price" at the time. It also came with the pad for the small purple case. If anyone has a case without the pad....Dexter

Your best place to begin research is the reference branch of the Marine Corps history museum division in Quantico they will be able to mail/fax the casualty file on him. That will yield a service number where you can get the service records from St. Louis and then as a previous post mentioned the IDPF. Great item, congrats.

Geez....... Where do you guys shop!!??
The only time I've found a PH in an antique store, it's run of the mill un-named, un-numbered, and no case. But of course they ask the same amount as an engraved KIA heart.
Congratulations on a very nice PH. That name should make it a little easier to research too.

Dexter.
Very nice find. And what a deal. Saipan is a little tougher than the Iwo Hearts . Saipan had a little over 2000 KIA,s . Iwo is over 6000. So that's a little rarer to find. Thanks for sharing. I,m sure you will get some PM's trying to buy it.
I would kept it if I was you. Can't wait to see some research.
