I bought this on ebay years ago. The story is that this type was awarded to Iraqi [maybe Afghan] soldiers fighting alongside US forces. US obviously qualified for the PH when wounded but allied forces did not [please correct me]. They wanted a way to honor those soldiers who didn't get the PH. The seller had pics of soldiers wearing these but the patch might say "Eat at Willies" for all I know. Any info of thoughts? Thanks Dexter

Dexter,
It actually reads Eat at Abdullahs
Seriously, I'm not sure but it is a nice patch. Will be nice to get it translated. Do you know if the vendor was a vet, and if you can get a copy of the pictures showing it being worn? Curious about the BDU material that it is sewed to as well???

Leigh, I have a copy of the ebay sales page [around here somewhere]. As I recall it was sold by an active duty soldier. I'll hunt for it and post the photo if found. Thanks Dexter

I was able to find this description from the sale. The market wasn't flooded with them so I think it's legit...

Thats pretty neat, thanks for posting it.
Awarding colorful badges and patches is a really effective way to motivate our Afghan counterparts over here. Apparently the current Division policy here in eastern Afghanistan prohibits awarding Army Commendation medals and Army Achievement medals to Afghan soldiers, but the practice was somewhat common 6-8 months ago. I have even seen a few Afghan officers wearing the complete decoration set (ribbon bar, lapel pin, and full size medal) on their regular uniform. I saw an Afghan National Boarder Police Captain a few months ago who was wearing not only the complete ARCOM set but also a full size color CIB pin. I've also seen unit crests and jump wings being worn.
