On Joseba's website he has about a paragraph or two about what has been labeled as a M1917-A2 helmet. What drew my attention to this is an ebay helmet with what seems to be the same liner configuration, but it's made out of fiberglass. Were these used by the military for what the seller of the helmet thinks had to do with tank tests.

Joseba's Article on the A1......The A2 is about half way down

Im thinking an early civilian construction helmet. The dome seems to follow the pattern

I think it's a civilian hard hat and "tank tests" could be for other types of tanks like water tank, possibly ship builders, etc.

It looks like an early miner's helmet. Also looks like the same helmet the workers wore when working on the Hoover dam.

I did doubt the military possibility. Is it the same one that Joseba is showing in his collection?
