I had to wait endlessly in hospital this morning and luckiliy the TV was on the History Channel....

They showed a great documentary about P51s in the ETO in WW2 and it featured a restored Mustang Miss Helen....
It was shot with collectors/re-enactors portraying pilots and groundcrews....

Guess who was crew chief of the bird.... Yes, our very own '517th'....

Nice job...!!

Anyone else seen him in action???

Hi Johan. Yes, he's a man of many faces...pilot, tanker, airborne....etc. You name it, he's re-enacted it!

That particular episode on the P-51 was excellent. HC is always a mix up but they really did well on that one. thumbsup.gif

Funny, my ex-wife used to call it the Hitler Channel partly because of all the WW2 shows.

Where did they do the filming at? And goo show 517th, as my main impression and research is into the ground crews you did a good job. twothumbup.gif

Hi Scott: Thanks for comments, i think my backround as a mechanical engineer served me well for the filming. The filming was done in the U.K. at the owners private air strip. If you read the above link it gives the aircrafts history. It shows that in 2000 it was returned to its original color scheme as Miss Helen, it was just after the paint job that the filming was done.........517th
