I have a picture of a young man in WWI uniform. I've identified everything about him and his uniform except two things, who he is and the ribbon he's wearing.
I scanned the picture at very high resolution, and have cut the ribbon part of the image. I don't think it's the Victory Ribbon as the light & dark are not the same as a victory ribbon. I even switched a colored image of a victory ribbon to B/W to see if it matched, and it didn't. I don't know if identification of the ribbon will help identifying the man but it might.
Thanks for any help that might be forthcoming.

Verdun Medal possibly? I have had a few groups, and one family member group that had this ribbon/medal

Did a Google image search for Verdun Medal and it seems the medal was rather irregular in who got it. Sort of semi official. All I can bring up for image is a solid red ribbon with just the very ends having thin colored stripes. If you could give me more info I would appreciate it.

I just did a search and the St. Mihiel Medal looks more promising. What do you think.
