Thanks to all,

Brian
BTW-yes, I know that it looks from his records that he did not enter service until 1946, but I believe that this is in error and like I mentioned above, I found Sgt. Lloyd Alexander on a website listing him in the 391st-575th during the war. Thanks for all the help. PM me if you do not want information public as this is a personal quest to return to the family what I believe rightfully belongs to them. Thanks again!

He was from my hometown of Mishawaka, IN BTW if this helps anyone put me in touch with the family!

Brian, this may seem circuitous, and it is. biggrin.gif

However, I believe you will find the family, if you will go to this link:

http://army.togetherweserved.com/usaf/serv...s.webapp.WebApp

I believe you were in the Army, right? If not, then pick your branch in the TWS system, register free for 30 days, and go immediately to their "TWS Personal Locator" service.

They can for sure help you find family for this airman if any exist.

BTW, I attended Mishawaka High 1960-62 - GO CAVEMEN! Go Maroon! Transferred then to John Adams in SB.

I lived at the Family and Children's Center.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunantly, I am not a veteran. Can I still use this link....it is down now for maint. anyway. It is really nothing much, but I have a metal covered "Heart-Shield" Bible that was sent to Sgt. Alexander to his APO address by his wife....who lived on 5th St. here in Mishawaka. I just thought that it would be a nice momento for the family to hang onto if I could locate them. I cannot even remember where I picked this one up at! Anyway, just thought that it belongs with them more than picking up dust on one of my shelves.

try googling 391st Bomb Group and see if that gets you a site.

Hey Brian,
I'm not much of a Karma award!
But I think it's great. Part of your reward is that "good feeling".
The rest of it will come, and you deserve it.
