Silver Star in grouping

I posted this under "groupings", and haven't had any responses regarding the silver star. I'd appreciate any help confirming whether or not this appears to be a legit piece.

WW2 issue medal but the engraving is non standard in my opinion.Usually see the name engraved not initials or date..something the owner did privately in my opinion but Im not well versed in medalology
