Probably a stock Navy photo sold by the thousands but I like it. I think this one dates from the mid-30's.

Nice post card my Granddad was on the sister ship The USS Saratoga the only way to tell them apart was the stack on the USS Saratoga had a black strip.

USS Saratoga CV-3 during the 1920's to the 1930's it had a black strip that's the time grandad was on t during the 1940's I don't see the strip here is a web site about the USS Saratoga.

USS LANGLEY was CV 1 .I know I can look it up but was the Saratoga CV-1?
CV 2 and 3 were LEXINGTON and SARATOGA
