Probably a stock Navy photo sold by the thousands but I like it. I think this one dates from the mid-30's.
I purchased at an antique mall a couple weeks ago. Kim

Nice post card my Granddad was on the sister ship The USS Saratoga the only way to tell them apart was the stack on the USS Saratoga had a black strip.

I know I can look it up but was the Saratoga CV-1?

USS Saratoga CV-3 during the 1920's to the 1930's it had a black strip that's the time grandad was on t during the 1940's I don't see the strip here is a web site about the USS Saratoga.

USS LANGLEY was CV 1 .

CV 2 and 3 were LEXINGTON and SARATOGA
