These pictures are to show some of my collection. I do not collect just one item or one unit. I pick up pretty much what ever catches my eye or what is available at the time. Mustly I collect uniforms but I am getting picky in my old age. I have helmets, unit histories, medals, patches, and some home front stuff. I really like Nebraska veteran's grouping.

I have over 35 WW1 helmets that I have come across in the last 20 years. I really like the unit painted ones.

Bones, you have a great collection. I really like the A-2, how about a picture of the front when you have time. Jon

I always wanted just one painted A2 jacket and last year I received it. The officer was originally from my home town. He was selling his home in Lincoln and called me out of the blue and said he had some air force uniforms he wanted to get rid of. I asked him what color they were and he said blue. I was not real excited by that but in the back of my head I went ahead and drove the 55 miles to his house and met him. He took me down stairs to a closet and handed me a hanging closet bag. I opened it up and saw the blue uniforms. We then talked about home town stuff. It turns out he had joined the Nebraska National Guard in 1940. He was in the service company of the 134th Infantry Regiment. My home town guard unit. We went through some old scrap books that he had starting with pictures of the York guard unit when they were mobilized in December of 1940. He volunteered for flight school and flew 30 missions as a pilot in a B-17 from England. My avator is his hand painted 367th bomb squadron patch of the 306th bomb group. This is a view of the back. I have interviewed him and still see him from time to time.

I am still working on my first 1000 uniforms. I think I am at around 800, most are WW2. This is a view of my cedar lined storage room. I have 4 racks I will show.

Rack 4. I am planning on doing a display at the ASMIC show in Denver over Labor Day weekend, but may not if gas is $4.00 / gallon.

This is my happily married couple. These uniforms were worn for their wedding which took place in France. The gal is a nurse and she told me she had to get permission from her commanding officer to wear the pink uniform in her wedding. The husband was an administrative officer in the medical corp. She is still alive and well, I have a copy of the actual wedding picture and she wrote me a brief history of the units she and her husband served in. I have used these 2 in a couple different displays over the years.

This is how I like to display my patches, with period posters or pillow covers as the back drop.

The frames can be found at any walmart store. When I display them I either hang them for a back drop or simply lay them on the table.

Awesome room! I thought I had a lot of uniforms at 150-200, but 1000! I wish I had space for that many!

Thanks for showing!
