Hi guys,

I'm a complete newbie in WW1 US uniforms and I would like to know if there are some good reference books for US WW1 jackets, equipment, ... .

Hope you can help me!

Thanks

Bart P

An oldie, but a goodie...

World War One Collectors Handbook Vol 1 & 2\\ combined by Hayes Otoupalik...

Don't know if it's still available somewhere and there may be better out there...

I can show it to you next time you come around...

There are also two books published by Schiffer:

Uniforms, Equipment and Weapons of the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I

http://www.schifferbooks.com/newschiffer/b...isbn=0764324314

and

Organization and Insignia of the American Expeditionary Force 1917-1923 by one of our very own forum members!

I've actually toyed with authoring a book about WW1 militaria, but simply haven't had the time to do it (the last book I wrote took the better part of a year to write, working four to five hours a day!) I know that if we photographed several of the collections represented on this forum, the book would be absolutely mind-blowing...maybe someday...(eight more years to retirement...maybe then!)

Thanks guys!

Which of the members wrote that second book, if I may be so curious?

Hayes still sells this directly, $24.95 for both books combined. Scroll all the way down the page.
