I found a large sardine shaped can marked Survival food, and it was dated 1963

the label said it had enough food for 3 men for 3 days, it contained energy bars, energy drink, sugar, etc. The metal can was about 8" in long and 4 1/2" in wide, and 1 1/2" in thick

the price was $17.00 on sale

were these carried by aircrews? or life boats?

the can looked similiar to this, except it was marked Survival ration and dated 1963

are these rare or hard to get? it was still sealed.
