Tonomachi Posted August 17, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2009 I picked this up Sunday at a flea market and was wondering how old is was? The leather strap says, "POUCH, TYPE CS-34 SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY". The pliers are marked, "H. BOKER - U.S.A. - TL - 13A" The wooden sides of the pocket knife is marked, " TL-29", the base of the knife blade, "ULSTER KNIFE USA", and etched on the second blade is, "TO RELEASE PUSH CENTER LOCK TO LEFT". I picked up a similar set up for a different job (EOD) at the same flea market about a year ago. This second pair looks much newer in age maybe 60s to 80s and I was wondering if these tool combinations were around in these configuration during WW2? Nice kit: that does appear to be a WWII kit - I don't know about current prices, but with knife, pliers and pouch, I could have seen something like that selling for up to $150 a year or two ago. Thank you for the information. I guess I got lucky as I purchased the first set for 20 dollars. The second EOD set was as I recall 10 dollars. doyler Posted August 17, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 17, 2009 I would also say WW2 vintage on the set.Seems to me the WW2/Korea sets were in leather and the later ones in a rigid canvas pouch.A friend picked up a similiar set at Iola last weekend in the $25 range. These sets were often brought home or borrowed.Yours is in really nice condition.
