Here is part of the seller's descrition and photos. I have not seen enough real ones to tell, but the scratches do not seem natural to me. Is it authentic ??

ORIGINAL 2ND RANGER BATTALION HELMET, NOT A RECENT PAINTED AND AGED COPY

THIS HELMET COMES FROM A LONG TIME COLLECTOR WHO PURCHASED AT AN AUCTION IN CLARKSBURG WEST VIRGINIA IN 1982

HELMET HAS,
FIXED BALES
STAINLESS STEEL RIM
SEAM IN FRONT
WESTINGHOUSE LINER

In tribute to the many thousands of Americans of Polish descent serving during World War II in the U.S. Armed Forces.

In honor of the USAAF glider pilots who had to fly in the toughest conditions of all other combat glider pilots of World War II.

It brought $2,025 on e-bay. Imagine what a real one would do ! !
