Manchu Warrior Posted January 10, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2008 I was at an auction last week and an acquaintance of mine said he had some items in his car that I might be interested in and this is what he showed me. First is the formal dress uniform, jacket and pants, and a name tag off of a flight jacket and a set of ribbons. Also the two certificates and what I think is a really cool odd ball item is the clip board that strapped to his knee when he was flying. The officer's name is Victor Kilkowski and he was a WWII fighter pilot and was promoted Brigadier General while serving in the Maryland Air National Guard in 1966 and he retired in 1980. I also have a full page with his bio on it with a photo with him with what looks like this same ribbon bar. I also have some of his manuals and other odds and ends and the guy I got this from says he has some other items that he will let me have first shot at when he locates them. I think I did well I purchased everything pictured plus the manuals for $40.00, what do you think? I apologize for the bad photo of the uniform when I took it is was to dark to see any buttons or detail.

Justin I appreciate the offer but being that I am a incurable pack rat and this is my only GO lot I will have to keep it at least for awhile. But, if I ever need to sell it I will let you know. Manchu Warrior Posted March 8, 2008 Author Share #15 Posted March 8, 2008 I posted this thread back in January and then, to my surprise, I was informed by Chris that the General's daughter contacted him stating that these items had been stolen. Chris was communicating with this person and she wrote him and apologized stating that after she spoke to her brother she realized that these items were not the items that had been stolen. This was her apology in memory of her father. Guest pretzel Posted July 19, 2008 Share #16 Posted July 19, 2008 Victor Kilkowski is alive and well and living in Maryland. There are inaccuracies in the information posted. You could check the details with him. His mind and memories are clear. It's not appropriate to post a comment that he was not a happy man, as if his life is over. Talk to him and let him tell you about his experiences.
