Couldn't pass up the price on these 2 jackets. Found one at the market and the other just came in the mail.

The first one is dated may 5, 1944. No name but has an excellent ribbon rack. I also photographed some marks in the pants that might lead to an ID.

Here is the second jacket which was found in Annapolis, MD. Belonged to Joseph Baum well known Navy lawyer and long time companion of Joyce Brothers.

Nice Jacket and it's good to see the name in the second jacket; looks like a good research project.

Congrats

Thanks for the comments.

Baum is an easy research project. There is a ton of info on the internet about him.

Thanks Brian,

I must admit that I had help from another forum member on the purchase of this jacket. I almost passed it up because of cash flow but my friend insisted it was worth far more than the asking price. I love Ramen noodles.

I would think the best route route in researching the jacket with the ribbons would be through his Navy/Marine Corps Medal. Your guy was very likely a Captain or perhaps a Commander during the war. How many of them would have been awarded during WWII to senior Naval officers? That is a relatively obscure medal.
