Hi all

I just rec'd a copy of the final pay voucher for a vet I am researching. How do you tell if he is a ETO or PTO vet. I was not sure if I should post the record on this forum. Any assistance is appreciated. It says
LP 31 AUG45 by S.D.Hoffman MajFD. Trfd as PFC 13OCT45..... Arvd US 9tOct45...
Can you tell by the dates the theater he was in??
Thanks
Charlie

I dont think so, there nothing here to indicate much, we do know that one Major Hoffmann, an Field Artillery Officer was involved, but not much else, LP, stands for Last Pay or Last Payed 31 August 1945, Trfd stands for Transferd, Arvd stands for Arrived, so basicaly we have his last pay day, the day he was transferd from unit unknown, and his arrival back in the states to a unit or camp unknown, the date you have for this must be a typo, as I gather it would read 19 Oct. WHAT no pay for the month of September ! ? :(
