Legion Posted November 4, 2009 #1 Posted November 4, 2009 Last week i picked up three groupings including a Marine Vietnam, Ranger Vietnam and this WWII submarine grouping. I answered and craiglist ad about an aviation helmet vietnam era unfortunatly someone (maybe on this forum) beat me to it for only $20!! But in talking with the vet he told me his father served in WWII and if i was willing i could go in the attic and pull out the two trunks that were up there. The rest is history. These pictures were taken very quickly and i only unloading one of three boxes i brought back (the person kept the military trunks) I have yet to go thru most as there is so much. Some of the highlights so far are the Post war Submarine pins (both marked) and massive photo album which has pictures from every port of call and every scrap of paper from movie ticket to football games, military passes etc. It looks as if enlisted in '39 and retired in '46...enjoy!

sigsaye Posted November 5, 2009 #15 Posted November 5, 2009 pic 2This will be a fun project to research and sort out. In this photo, you have MoMM crows and regular MM crows. The white MM crow on the laft is a pre 1940 style with the eagle facing to it's left. Also, you have a Coast Guard shield. In another picture, you have post 1950 pin on Enlisted dolphins, and inanother photo, you have the Dress blue uniforms of a MoMM with a Ruptured Duck, next to a white Quartermasters uniform. Looks like he might have collected some extra stuff over the years. Steve Hesson
