cbuehler Posted September 1, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2007 All, I have noted that it is common to see the USMC/EGA stencil on the pockets of the erdl coats, but was this also done on the earlier OD poplin coats as well? I have seen several pics of Marines in Vietnam with the 2 or 3 pattern coats and there are no stencils on the pockets, just rank on the collars. Thanks, CB
Spike Posted September 2, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2007 Yes, I remember seeing an exposed button shirt with a stenciled EG&A at a vintage clothes store, I didn't get it cause I don't collect Marine stuff, I don't think I've seen it on OD ripstop though. Tonomachi Posted September 2, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2007 Here are photographs of one of these jackets you have mentioned which I bought several years ago at either a thrift store (Goodwill or Salvation Army) or flea market. It is dated 1963. Dennis

Spike Posted September 2, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 2, 2007 Tonomachi, you have some luck, I lived up there until 88 and hardly ever found anything like the stuff you have.......
