ehrentitle Posted December 10, 2010 Share #3 Posted December 10, 2010 Nice uniforms, both have the Quartermaster School distinctive unit insignia. I was a Quartermaster officer for a number of years, but don't have any photos of my uniforms handy.

tankerman Posted December 11, 2010 Share #5 Posted December 11, 2010 Mutilated QM shirt. What a shame!! Superb direct embroidery...note blue eyes on eagle and detail on rank/bos. Name/USA nice work. SSI thick in-country patch. DSA 1-9410 on tag P/u at a thrift in hopes to repair...or whatever. Probably remove SSI and do whatever with shirt. Too bad, nice example of VN era QM shirt. ehrentitle Posted December 11, 2010 Share #7 Posted December 11, 2010 Sorry, it's not Quartermaster branch, it's a very crude Inspector General branch insignia.
tankerman Posted December 11, 2010 Share #8 Posted December 11, 2010 Sorry, it's not Quartermaster branch, it's a very crude Inspector General branch insignia. Hey you are right...I stand corrected. Plead brain flatulence tonight, duh.. Still, to bad about about the shirt
ehrentitle Posted December 11, 2010 Share #9 Posted December 11, 2010 No worries, we all make these kind of errors, and the general shape is very simular. Rather than rummaging through boxes looking for my old uniforms in the attic I did come across a couple of photos I have on my computer. Two are of the uniform I wore in Haiti in the 90s and the third is a close up of a Vietnam era QM uniform in my collection.
tankerman Posted December 11, 2010 Share #10 Posted December 11, 2010 Nice photos. Don't you just really like the color insignia?? Really give character to those fatigue shirts. Thanks for sharing
atb Posted December 11, 2010 Share #11 Posted December 11, 2010 Vietnam Era. Nametape and SSI missing. From the impression left by the missing SSI, it was the 196th Infantry Brigade. The "burning worm" design of the SSI can be seen under close inspection.
Captainofthe7th Posted December 11, 2010 Share #12 Posted December 11, 2010 Here are some of the few QM uniforms I have. A nice CBI 1st Sgt ESB tailored Ike jacket. I really like this uniform. And one of my favorites, a 7th ID/ IX Corps Ike. A lot of nice qualities in this one. Rob

RelicHunter99 Posted December 14, 2010 Share #17 Posted December 14, 2010 My great great uncle Gus, WW1 era Quartermaster uniform. I would love to have the uniform, but I will have to settle for the photo. By the way, does anyone know why the metal collar discs had the key and sword switched around sometimes? Was it depending on which side of your collar it was for?
