Airborne Troop Carrier pilot

I'm getting ready to leave for a business trip and thought, since I was on the computer anyway making a last check of my e-mail, I thought I'd go ahead and post a couple pictures of this uniform from my collection before shutting down.

The tunic is a rather small size (36R) and seems to have been tailored to a rather athletic build; the waist belt is sewn directly to the blouse except for the front. Trousers, which are not pictures, are of the pink-tan shade.

The individually attached overseas bars add a nice touch to this wonderful piece. Looks to be in exceptional condition. Thank you for showing it.

Very nice uniform!! Lt. Pilot highly condecorated!!! 2 SS...WOW!

Already I looked innumerable officers uniforms with The Ruptured Duck patch and many times had said me could not possible.

Please, is possible or not?

I left to buy excellent uniforms for that reason... crying.gif

Best regards,

Ricardo.

Definitely possible. It wasn't regulation, but it happened anyway (I've owned multiple officers' uniforms with the ruptured duck and they've been 100% legitimate).

Hi Beau,

Thanks!

I looked at a time a go one original WW2 photo of a pilot with one TRD patch in the uniform.

You remembers the topic in the WAF?

Best regards,

Ricardo.

I just noticed this posting.

I agree, excellent tunic showing the indivduality of the pilots and how they had their uniforms tailored.

And yes, impressive grouping of awards.

My point of interest is that his overseas bars note 2yrs in the ETO, why then, ONLY three battle stars?

The lack of battle stars may be attributed to the fact that he was wounded (the PH being present) and was out for a few campaigns. Just a thought.

I really don't have an answer but what Justin said certainly sounds reasonable.
