Gutkowski Posted August 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2007 Here is what I have from my grandfathers uniforms (Blues ans Greens ) Here is what I have from him as far as his EGA's .I took the 2 off his greens as well as his pisscutter . The big one I am assuming would go on his dress blues cover ? (I am missing the cover if someone has one for sale pm me please ) I dont think I have the EGA's for his blues right ?If I dont have them what do they go for so I can buy them and make it complete ? I am missing 2 buttons from the jacket also and I am looking for those too. They are the flat button type .( I have 2 round buttons from him ) My main goal is to get his uniforms back to the orginal look as to the day he took them off . Here is some neat finds I found in his pockets of his dress blues , He was married to my grandmother when he enlisted so I dont know who Pat is and I dont know what the Big news is Thanks for any help you can give Matt- . GLM Posted August 16, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2007 Matt, All of the emblems you show are for the service uniform. All appear to be straight up early WWII issue pieces in bronze. They were most likely made prior to the strategic metals ban in 1943. One of the collar emblems with the pierced anchor ring might be a little earlier, as in slightly pre war. I'm guessing the one brass roller nut you have there is for the pierced anchor ring emblem. The larger emblem is also the service emblem for the Barrack's or visor hat, not for the dress blue cover or hat. If you're patient and not in too much of a hurry, you can pick up a nice matched set of WWII dress collar emblems on eBay for $10 to $20 if no one is really needing a set at the time and willing to bid them clear out of reason. You'll want the same type of emblems as the Service emblems, only in polished or shiny brass. What are the backmarks or names on the reverses of the buttons on the blues? I might have some spares for you if they're not some weird-off-of-the-wall maker. Gary
robert60446 Posted April 12, 2008 Share #3 Posted April 12, 2008 Hi guys, Here is another contribution to M37 collar pieces. WWII issue – nothing special but I’m happy to have these. I’m posting large pictures for reference.

teufelhunde.ret Posted April 13, 2008 Share #6 Posted April 13, 2008 Nice studio photo Robert, does your photo editing software allow you to lighten up the mid-tones any. In many instances the devil is in the details, those that are often in the darker areas... such as the back of the eagle on the reverse shot. We are enjoying the new crisp images. Rattle Posted June 22, 2008 Share #7 Posted June 22, 2008 I've posting this on behalf of a friend who owns this. Since i have no clue on EGA's, i thought i would post it here. What time period is it , and what approximate value has this EGA, if any ? Regards, Stephan

teufelhunde.ret Posted June 22, 2008 Share #9 Posted June 22, 2008 Stephan, very good photograph. You have there the generic issue variety of collar emblem for the service greens of WW2. The die used for producing this one had obviously seen a good bit of wear and tear as evidenced on the anchor and eagle. The roller with it should be the zinc flower type, it has been replaced I see with a brass roller. As a matched pair (w/ correct rollers), $5-10 depending on wear. As a single a buck or two. s/f Darrell
