US WWII Litter carrier

Dear guys!

I haven't found any topic about US WWII Litter Carrier here, so I started one. I found a nice article, too:

http://med-dept.com/litters.php

Today I was given a colapsible carrier, made by The Colson Corp., Elyria, Ohio, 14th October 1942.

It is not complete, it's missing the tires, triangular stand and the screws, which hold it standing (as is on the photo in the red circle...)

I have allready ordered tire copies, with a great help of Johan Willaert, the owner of great Liberator collection..

Please, could anyone of you send me dimensions and some photos of the triangular stand and the screw?

Thank you very much,

Frantisek "Broccoli" Nachlinger,

Pilsen, the Czech Republic.

I can get some pictures of the stand and screw.

Could I get your serial number and Cont# if it has one from your Carrier so I can put it on my Serial List page.

Dear Craigh,

Thank you for the pictures, FIELD LITTER CARRIER MODEL 1921 is really wonderfull.

I have allready filled the date/manufacturer/year of my RL-35 cart (ex swiss) on your sites, half year ago, but it is still not there - maybe I did something wrong.. :)) I will send you it one more time ASAP...

to the carrier:

The Contract number is: W2827 MD584?? (but looks like MD584MD - if is it possible..)

Serial number is 2?33, may be 2733?? ? :) - I will tell you more after cleaning it.

When I see your advertisment, I really don't know, if I would use it as a boat trailer :)

I would really appreciate some photos and dimensions of the stand. If you do not want to send it here, please, send it to my mail - 2nd-ranger-bn"@"centrum.cz

Best regards,

Frantisek

P.S.-Have to say - your cart collection is AMAZING.

Thanks for the compliment on the collection.

I will look through my emails for your Rl-35 . I'm sure its in there. I was having issues getting things on my site to update and rather than smash my laptop I threw in the towel for awhile. Have it figured out now.

Hello Craig and Frantisek, I have a cart I restored a few years ago. I was pleasantly surprised when it won "Best in Class" at an MVPA convention in Portland, OR. Mine was made by the Dayton Wheel Co., Dayton, OH with serial #144. It has Gillette tires which appear to be original to the cart. The tubes looked good but blew out immediately when given air. I used the services of two bike shops to obtain replacement tubes and to have the tires remounted on the rims. I'll try and get some photos of the stand.

Hello again :)

Johan, I think you could send some info about your M3A4 and RL-35 handcarts to Craig, I haven't found you in the cart list ;)

Gunbunny, I would be really grateful for any detailed photo of the triangular stand of the litter cart :)

Craig, thank you for adding me to your list, if you wanted any photos of my RL-35, just let me know, but it still looks like any other Ex-Swiss one..

Thank you for answering!

Frantisek

I have three of Johans Carts on my list.

I never really tire of pictures of Carts. I know they all look really similar but I would like as many photos of Carts as I can get. So please send me your photos.

Sorry, I haven't seen it in the list.. I did not know Johan has 3 carts, I thought he has just 2 of them :)

Graig, I am cleaning the litter cart now, under the brush added colour it is a litle bit worse than it looked painted. Will send you some photos ASAP. I have read the full contract number - W2827MD584M1186, and the the serial number 2033 - not 2733, if you could add/change it in your list... both numbers re sure right. Thank you!

Johan, thank you for moving it here..

I only have two but have restored several for friends... But since I supplied serial info about several carts, I guess sometimes it becomes unclear...

thank you for answer :o)

as I needed the dimensions and photos of the screw, which holds the carrier up, I found these on ebay, I think it is really what I need : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

But I still need the detailed photos and dimensions of the stand, please :)

...more pictures..

The feamle screw was soldered with brass, but the screw was totally rusted in.. so we had to put it of the yoke, than drill off the rest of the screw and solder it back :)

The carrier is cleaned, but the wheels not yet. This weekend I am gonna try to take it to parts, I hope it won't be a big problem.

Next week we'll put the colour on.

Yesterday i recieved a parcel from the USA with the tires.

Here you go. Let me know if I missed any dimensions. I was going to convert to metric but than I might not ever get it posted.
