usmc-collector Posted February 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2009 I just purchased one USMC Officers Cap emblem from Australia (can not prove it was made in Australia, could be just US made variation), I compared it with other US examples I have and I found some diferences. see photos bellow: I can identify following diferences: A.) FRONT - dot on anchor (diferent shape and way of stamping) - rope thickness (US made one is more thin) - continent shape (diferent shape and sizing) - eagle head shape B.) BACK - edge thickness (all around) - dot on anchor - base under screw C.) SIDE - thickness (US made one is not so thick) JAROSLAV
teufelhunde.ret Posted February 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 10, 2009 Well honestly have no idea if is an Australia maker at this time... with no hallmarks, we may never know for sure. I believe Blackinton is the only one at this time making current issue - and packaged for others/
