Martin B Posted August 14, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted August 14, 2007 the second is an 82nd Ike named to an Ernst Lundeen from Eugene Oregon. Mr. Lundeen entered as an enlisted man and was promoted late in the war to a Lieutenant. The jacket carries both his enlisted serial crossed out and replaced by his officer serial. Martin B Posted August 14, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted August 14, 2007 The third is a medical enlisted Ike from the 17th airborne. I also have his M42 jump jacket. It was reinforced but some cut out all the reinforcement patches.
Martin B Posted August 14, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted August 14, 2007 The fourth is an officer's Ike from a gentleman in both the 82nd and the 17th. Note the embroidered CIB.

The flag that is on there is certainly not typical of what was traditionally used in the 101st in WWII. Is it possible to get a close up of the flag and SSI on that? You may also want to change the Captains bars on the officer uniform. They would run paralell to the shoulder seam and not as currently positioned. Thanks,
Allan H. Posted August 14, 2007 Share #9 Posted August 14, 2007 I believe that the 101st eagle on your field jacket is a reproduction from WW2 Impressions and not an original eagle. That might explain the unusual arm flag too. Allan
