The Brinkley Bass was a destroyer it was the ship my Uncle was on it was hit by shore in Wonson Harbor N. Korea 1952 . He took these pictures of the injured sailor. He recentley gave his photo album. A real treasure too me.post-14-1167613733.jpg

the middle picture is interesting they seem to be wearing the blue neoprene life presever both the man kneeling and the man in back ground.What is unique about these vests is inside the "horse" collar is two D rings which a strap runs through.Notice the manin the back ground he has a strap going fron front of chest under is armpit and would be snapped together in back .This vest looks similar to the B-4 life preserver but does not have crotch strap just waist strap.There were several versions produced the main differnece is the oral inflation tubes one style has them in between the bladders and the other external like the B-4.

Good evening beirutveteran. I'm the admin for a closed USS Brinkley Bass DD887Association FB group that has a post with a photo of a scrapbook page containing duplicates of two of your photos plus some other shots of damage from that hit. The poster is Robert Jones (ET2), an 86 year old BBass Korea vet and a long-time member of the Association. Would you be willing to provide your uncle's name. These two probably knew each other.
