That short sleeve shirt belong to someone who was in the US Navy's Coastal River Squadron 2 which I believe was in service from 1971 to 1978. The shirt may have a white tag inside that begins with DSA; if so provide us the numbers following DSA and we can tell you what year the shirt was made. If the shirt has a yellow label, then it was made after the Vietnam War.

The Vietnam era labels would look like this lone, which is dated 1969:

hello,

shes dated 1971... sorry I dont put the date on post...

cosrivron were in vietnam?

thx ;)

The Coastal River Squadrons were formed late in the Vietnam War from what had ben called Boat Support Units. CosRivRon 1 was in San Diego and CosRivRon 2 was in Little Creek Virginia near Norfolk. They were each comprised of four Coastal River Divisions. If you do a Google search for Coastal River Divisions you will find several articles.

One, at http://www.ptfnasty.com/CRD21.htm , says "In 1971, the Boat Support Units ONE and TWO were re-designated Coastal River Squadrons ONE and TWO.

At the end of the United States' involvement in the Vietnam War in 1972, the PTF’s and PG’s, were reassigned."

What I do not know is whether in fact boats did in fact operate in Vietnam under the banner of the Coastal River Squadrons - the above makes it sound like the did, but it is not definitive.
